COVID-19 Hybrid Learning

With the craziness of COVID-19 hybrid learning, we realize that there are a whole new set of barriers to our students' learning. One of the barriers should never be experiencing difficulty finding information.

Our hybrid team decided to publish all the pertinent information you need to know right here, on this webpage, so you don't need to sift through endless pages and countless email attachments.

If you missed our orientations, no worries! Just view the video above. It's hosted online, so even from a smartphone, it wont cost you any appreciable data to view.

Hybrid Team Orientation Slides

These are the Slides we'll show during the parent Zoom orientation. In it, you'll see Google Classroom and Class Dojo explained. You'll have access to a series of links, and we'll collect some important information to get you and your student set up for success this year. I can't wait to see you!!!

My team and I agreed that this clutter of desks on the stage, framed by open curtains, was a strangely beautiful, modern-art embodiment of our distance-learning reality at DMS. It's somehow simultaneously art imitating reality, and reality imitating art. Brutalism born of necessity.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is going to be our primary medium for assigning, collecting, assessing, and offering feedback on student work and materials. It's worth getting to know how to use it. Students will need to log into their Google Account, and use the class codes you see below to join every teachers' Google Classrooms.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is awesome! It's the best way to communicate with teachers by texting. It feels so much more natural, casual, and chill than calling the school or sending an email because it's how we all communicate with each other anyway.
