It's finally time! We're transitioning kids back into the classroom. I promise that in room 208 of DMS, safety will come first, and meaningful learning will come second! I can't wait to work IN PERSON with all your kids!<- Remember when kids used to work together, at tables, without masks!?! Oh how much the world has changed!

Today, students will take one of two surveys: hybrid, or remote instruction. Mrs. Berghold and I will use these surveys to drive our transition plans as students move into their new teams, new modalities, and possibly even a new teacher. We'll share this data on Thursday to let students know that their voices have been heard.

Today, students will see their hybrid survey results! Once those results are shared, they'll join their new Google Classrooms! While this is definitely a "housekeeping" kind of lesson, we want students, whether they're remaining remote, or jumping into a hybrid model, they'll be ready to hit the ground running in their new Google Classrooms!

Today, students will get to know each other, and me, to the best of our abilities, and at a distance of six feet, without seeing the bottom half of anyone's face. Yup, it's going to be a challenge.
We'll use my opening Slides again, but this time for it's intended purpose. It's been updated for hybrid learning purposes. |
Today's lesson is dedicated to sharing the nitty-gritty, nuts and bolts expectations for what hybrid learning will look like in ELA this year. Some lessons lend themselves to in-person instruction. Some can be done at home. The days students are home are not days off of school. They're days during which students do school work by themselves. We will purposely do all of the heavy lifting together in school, but there will be necessary practice work and work completion that students NEED to do at home. It won't be a lot, but students will not pass if they don't work at home.
